It ranked first in the herbal tea category during last year’s Double 12 and Chinese New Year shopping festivals. In January this year, it also raised tens of millions of RMB in a Pre-A round of funding.

Chinese tea culture is often seen as traditional and complex, which can push young people away. But new tea brands like Cha Xiao Kong are changing that. They make tea drinking fashionable, healthy, and relaxing.

The founder, Zhao Haibai, says:


“We are providing a drinking solution—making it easier for people to enjoy healthier and better-tasting water.”


The brand found that more young people are becoming health-conscious. Drinking water is the first step toward a healthier lifestyle. But plain water is boring to those used to sweet drinks. Cha Xiao Kong offers a tasty yet healthy alternative with natural teas that are sugar-free and low-calorie.


That’s why the brand started with blended flower and fruit teas, which are easy to try and widely appealing. They collaborated with celebrities and influencers on Douyin and Xiaohongshu to promote their products with messages like “Drink more water with Cha Xiao Kong.”


Tea for Different Lifestyles

Cha Xiao Kong also launched a special tea for people who stay up late—the “Overnight Energy Tea”. It mixes eight natural ingredients like ginseng, goji berry, and red dates. It doesn’t taste like medicine—it’s actually delicious. In less than a month, sales passed 2 million RMB.


Super-Infusion Technology: Ready in Seconds

Normal tea bags need hot water and time. Cold brew tea can take hours.

Cha Xiao Kong developed a new Super-Infusion Technology with a national tea research lab. This method allows tea to brew in cold water in just 20 seconds—with a quick shake. The tea still keeps its full flavor and natural look.


The brand also works with tea experts to source high-quality ingredients. They even opened a Tea Research Institute in Hangzhou to improve their products.


Chinese Style Meets Youth Culture

Most tea bag brands today are inspired by Western tea culture. Cha Xiao Kong wants to change that. It brings Chinese elements into its designs—like ancient figures and mythical symbols. Every new tea comes with poetic names and beautiful messages.


They also created a friendly IP character named Xiao Kong to connect with young people. They’ve already released stickers, emojis, and red envelopes featuring Xiao Kong. More products like storage boxes and scented cards are coming.


Challenges and Opportunities

The new tea market is growing fast. More young people are drinking tea. However, Cha Xiao Kong also faces competition from new brands and coffee companies. To stay ahead, they must keep their products fresh, attract returning customers, and innovate.
